Riverwalk section is awful

April, 2025 by tod.hanson

We rode the Riverwalk section and the Big Four Bridge. The bridge was great, the Riverwalk was not. It is true they had major flooding about 3 weeks ago and, understandably, this was not yet fully remediated. But even in unaffected areas the majority of the trail goes through dilapidated inner city and industrial sections with only minimal and unmaintained landscaping, hardscaping, or other park amenities. If you want a much better southern Riverwalk trail experience, go to Chattanooga TN or Columbus GA.

Little Miami Scenic Trail

Great trail, signage not awesome

April, 2025 by tod.hanson

Loved the trail - only did Xenia to Yellow Springs and back, in conjunction with one of the connector trails. Signs use trail numbers vs names, which we didn’t realize until we were on trail… Also, not clear signage at key intersections where trails intersect or turn. Won’t be a problem if you’re expecting/prepared for it, but not as clear and user friendly as many other top tier rail trails we’ve ridden.

Legacy Trail (KY)

Needs signage, facilities, parking

April, 2025 by runer4jc

I started at the trail “ending” downtown - but there was no parking, no trailhead, no facilities, and no sign to identify the trail. Strange. I parked at the Catholic Church down the street. I was told I could park at the YMCA, but how do out of town people know this. Then, it was difficult to follow the trail at crossings - very few signs or road markings. The trail is nice, good surface, and beautiful scenery toward the north end. But then it ends at a farm gate - no parking, no facilities, no trailhead, and no signs. Strange. Lexington needs to develop it more! a nice trail.

Ohio River Trail

Great trail with potential to connect

December, 2024 by luv_mlb25

I ran this trail on December 26, 2024. Started at the 5-mile road section and ended at Waites Rd. This measured 2.13 miles. Then picked up again at Ebersole Community Center and ran that entire segment including the off spur to canoe ct/trailhead, ending at Corbin Street and this measured 5.16 miles. The last segment started at the Crystailine Tower and ended at Smith Street and that measured 2.75 miles....so that is closer to 10 mile run. The site measures it as close to 8 and I don't know if they just didn't include a segment or not, but it was clearly closer to 10 miles. The sites were fantastic and the middle segment has some breathtaking views of just amazing wide open views around the airport. I would run this more if I lived closer to this trail. I never felt unsafe on the trail and there were quite a few people on the trail with the nice weather in December. HIghly recommend the trail :)

Louisville Loop Trail (Parklands of Floyd Fork portion)

October, 2024 by curry.kevin27

Beautiful trail, may be the best my wife and I have ridden and we’ve ridden many in several Midwestern states. Well maintained, plenty of clean restrooms along the way. Many interesting points of interest and the scenery was stunning on a cloudless October morning.

Legacy Trail (KY)

great trail

Husband and I are new EBike riders. We haven’t ridden bikes in 30+ years. We loved this trail. We try to be respectful when approaching other bikers and runners. We parked at Coldstream and rode north to horse park. Rode into the campground and stopped for ice cream in camp store. I have read comments about road noise from I-75, but honestly the trail and scenery are still beautiful. We rode about 15 miles after meandering a bit off trail at Horse park. We rode on Saturday and there were a lot of people on the path but everyone shared i

Legacy Trail (KY)

Great Experience.

October, 2024 by michaelshaffer_tl

My son and I hiked the trail for one of his Scout merit badges. A well maintained trail. Most cyclists were courteous about saying “passing on left”. There is water and picnic tables and restrooms at mile marker 5.6. There are also port-a-pots in a few other areas along the way. Our route took us from the Horse Park to the end of the trail and back. We did take a couple of the shorter trails off the main trail. Overall a great experience.

Ride along the River

September, 2024 by rsgogliotti

We had rode the trail from the River Park Marina to Swanee . The trail was in need of some repairs but the views of the river and downtown was very appealing. However, after the McAlpine lock and dam, the trail became questionable. We encountered numerous camps, piles of trash, motor bikes / ATVs on the trail and very questionable surroundings, we turned around. I would suggest on to avoid this path pf the trail close to Swanee park

Little Miami Scenic Trail

We love this whole trail other than Springfield area 5 stars to the other 70 miles of trail!

August, 2024 by cwn86cckz2

We ride this trail very often from Milford to Yellow Springs and love this portion of the Trail. We went North of Yellow Springs for the 1st time back in 2022 heading to Urbana. for the 1st time my husband and I felt unsafe on the trails in Springfield area. We have been on 100's of miles of the trails all over Dayton, Troy, Miamisburg, Piqua, Loveland, Morrow, Beavercreek, Xenia, Cincinnati. I have never feared being on the path with my husband. This was the 1st time we made it a point to turn around before getting to our planned stopping point to be sure we had the energy to keep a steady pace to get back through an area without slowing or stopping. Homeless, graffiti, glass on trail, we love riding but will not go on this portion of trail again. I want to be clear it was only the Springfield area. If going North of Yellow Springs I would stop at I believe it was called Beatty Park, skip Springfield area and hop back on at a different time north of Springfield. I will Note that we never passed any other bike riders in this area in either direction, which we have never encountered being completely alone for a few miles. (I previously posted this some how on a 2nd account i was unaware I had until today.) We have not been back on the trail in that area for the past 2 years, however we were in that area a few weeks ago by car, and the path was not looking any better than we remembered.

Nice well maintained rail to trail.

Louisville Loop

East side north to south

August, 2024 by 256x2cdphk

I live about 30 minutes away from the trail and just discovered this fantastic opportunity. I rode the east side portion that goes from HWY 60 at the community garden trail head and goes south to end at Bardstown road hwy 150. It’s about 18 miles one way. The mile markers on the route must be part of the proposed final solution as they start at something like 74 and when you reach the end is around 56, at Bardstown road area. Best trail I have encountered so far. Much shade to enjoy but also open areas with scenic views. Super nice bridges to cross as you ride along the water. Rolling terrain, so yes there are moderate hills for the novice rider. Concrete or blacktop all the way. Very clean and well maintained. It certainly gets a 5 star rating in my view.

Ohio to Erie Trail

This could be a great trail. We went north to Fredericksburg from Millersburg. The trail was smooth for the first 5 miles, then got rough. It is shared with horses and had droppings on both sides. There is no restrooms north of Millersburg.
